Doll Hospital

American Girl dolls are meant to be played with, but sometimes during the fun, accidents happen. That's why the experts at the American Girl Doll Hospital are here to help with everything from a thorough cleaning to major "surgery." Doll doctors will make her as good as new and send her back ready to be loved for years and years.

Welcome to the Doll Hospital

When you admit your American Girl doll to the Doll Hospital, she'll be carefully handled to protect her from further injury. A team of doll doctors will examine her from head to toe and decide on a treatment to fix her "injuries"—everything from hair brushing to limb tightening to major "surgery."

Doll Hospital services:

Wellness visit

Skin cleaned, hair brushed hospital gown, certificate, but no major "surgery."

Ear piercing

This service is for 18" My American Girl® dolls only.

The Doll Hospital can do more than help dolls "feel" better—we can help them look better, too, with our ear-piercing service. Admit your My American Girl® doll and for $14, we will pierce her ears and send her home with six pairs of earrings.

When she gets home, add sparkle with these mix-and-match studs and dangle earrings!

There's now one more way to personalize your 18" My American Girl® doll: hearing aids. When you admit your doll to the Doll Hospital, our experts will perform a permanent piercing behind her ear to ensure the hearing aid is expertly fitted—in one or both ears. For more details or to order a My American Girl doll with a hearing aid, call 800-845-0005.

The hearing aids, which are removable, cost $14 and are also available for My American Girl® dolls at time of purchase and at retail locations.

We're delighted to provide a My American Girl® 18" doll that's just right for your girl. Each of our new dolls without hair costs $110, and is specially designed from a variety of doll faces, skin tones, and eye colors.

Plus, if you already own a My American Girl doll, you can admit her to the Doll Hospital where our experts will be happy to replace her head to create a doll without hair.

Every doll who comes to the Doll Hospital will have her hair brushed and her skin cleaned before she's discharged. Within three weeks, she'll be on her way home with a smile on her face and special items to remember her stay, including:

  • Certificate of Good Health
  • Get Well card
  • Doll Hospital gown (plus a cap for Bitty Baby and socks for 18" dolls)
  • Doll Hospital ID bracelet* *ID Bracelet not included with Bitty Baby/Twins for safety reasons

How to Admit an American Girl Doll

If your American Girl doll needs extra care from the experts at the Doll Hospital, follow these simple steps:

  1. Complete the Doll Hospital Admittance Form:
  2. Prepare your American Girl doll for her visit to the hospital—detailed instructions are listed on the form.
  3. Choose whether you want to have her ears pierced during her stay. (18" My American Girl® dolls only) For $14, she will have her ears pierced and get six sets of shiny studs and dangles to mix and match.
  4. Choose whether you want to add a hearing aid to one or both ears during her stay. (18" My American Girl® dolls only) For $14, our doll doctors will expertly fit her with a removable doll-sized hearing aid in one or both ears.
